The SEFOSA Obras y Servicios Ambientales Group

The SEFOSA group is comprised by its root, the SEFOSA Obras y Servicios Ambientales S.A. corporation, located in Seville, Spain, and its corporate branches in Cáceres (SEFOEX S.A.) and Valladolid (SEFOCAL S.A.), both also in Spain. Our presence crosses the Atlantic to South America with our branch in Uruguay, the Bairos S.A corporation.

Shareholding

From the SEFOSA group birth back in 1971, Its development within the forestry sector throughout the years influenced its internal configuration, adapting it to market demands and diversifying its stock structure, but always keeping its privated nature intact.

Today, the company stock is shared between family shareholders (71%), and the directive personnel, while recently Grupo Duero, a finantial company greatly involved in the rural sector became a minor shareholder.

Grupo Duero is an investment branch from the Caja Duero Bank, a mainstream finantial entity in Spain.

At the present, the steady staff from the SEFOSA Group rounds 80 people, with a technical force comprised by about thirty engineers from assorted specialities, skilled while averaging 35 years in age, highly specialized on the field foremen, and an experienced administration team.

To carry out the annual execution of both government awarded works, and private individuals and companies contracts, a high level of temporary hiring is needed on all the intervening provinces. This usually translates to 250 workers on average per financial year, almost all of them belonging to localities near each working zone.

At the present, the SEFOSA Group covers the whole Environmental and Forestry spectrum, which has an special impact in its Research & Development (I+D+i) department, which was born back at the company begginings.

Afforestation – Silvicultural Treatments

On Afforestations we cover all the needed works, from the optimal soil and terrain conditioning to the seeding or planting itself, having all the human and material resources needed for the task.

Harrowing Manual Hole Digging

We have extensive experience in Silvicultural treatments –pruning, clearing, forestry detritus elimination— and also in its mating activities, like forestal paths and tracks conditioning.

Cork and Wood Exploitation

This is a traditional SEFOSA activity, which owns specific machinery for the task, and is one of the main work areas for the R&D department, the development of processor heads and the heavy machinery customization to fit rural and forestry duties.

Recovery of Demoted Areas is gaining more and more relevance in our country. Dumps sealing and its subsequent recovery for public, recreational use it’s one of the main concerns for almost all authorities.

Recreational areas, usually located in the rainforest or its proximities, demand specialized skills to plan and build facilities that get proper public use, bringing nature to citizens.

Hydrology works and River Bed cleaning

The environmental activity of SEFOSA also includes the hydrological field, mainly in the maintenance areas, like river bed cleaning, reservoir shore cleaning, and dock building.

Research and Develoment and Innovation

The R&D&I department started its journey almost in parallel with SEFOSA, concentrated once in machinery customization and transformation to fulfill forester duties.

There is an extensive number of projects this department has carried on. One of the most significative due to its impact and spreading in the Forestry Sector was the TTAE (Tractor Todoterreno de Alta Estabilidad) High Stability All Terrain Tractor, which was designed and built in our Santiponce, Seville facilities. Another hits were Eucalyptus Processing Heads or the present projects LIMFOR, REA and Telemaq+.

This department also manages distribution in Spain of the fine quality Finnish cutting heads Pentin Paja Oy .
